Calise & Carigz Like It

There’s a special place in my heart for producers that strike a sustainable balance between music and school. Calise & Carigz, a progressive house duo from Rhode Island, have set the precedent for aspiring producers in their area, excelling professionally all the while making their way through the academic barriers before they reach true musical freedom. The duo has been dedicating more time in the studio following their spring tour stops that had them playing alongside the likes of Dyro, Bassjacker, Borgore, and Quintino, teaming up with another Rhode Island-native, Yano, to release their newest track “I Like It.

When I wrote about the boys at the end of last year, they struck me as passionate producers and DJs with a drive to break out of their small state. Seeing the progression in their productions, they’re proving themselves to be on the right path. If you have the opportunity to see Calise & Carigz and Yano in New England—or anyone beyond in the near future—seize the chance so you can see them in one of their most formative periods. Keep an eye out for two of their deeper tracks set to release this summer: “Who Needs Miami?” and “Everlasting.”
